Balance transfer fee of 2.98%!

  • I'm fairly new to this site and only just getting my finances sorted. I was ridiculously naive about money including balance transfer charges, interest rates and suchlike! I am now a convert and understand balance transfers etc but I can see how people get it wrong. Of course there will be fees because if we actually pay our cards off (and we know the ccc's hope we don't!) they will not make any money from us! What I'm saying is that I hope people won't be scared to post in case they get flamed. I realise Indio was being very naive (and then abusive which is wrong) in their post but I'm just asking please have patience with some of us new money savers who have been foolish with their money and are only just learning the tricky ways of banks and card companies!!!

Hattie welcome, I think you need to look at post 20 where johnllew has pointed out some of the OP's other posts.

These suggest the OP is either a troll, or has a complete disregard for anything financial and is not really willing to learn.

The OP is not new to this site, nor asking questions, yet never has anything constructive to say and rarely responds to any good advice given.

    I wonder.................

Duly noted excel! I haven't really been in the position to offer advice yet so hence my wide eyed perspective! Thanks for the welcome I'm glad to be here!

Disappointing to see that bullying is alive and thriving on MSE.

im not having any financial problems, earn a good wage and on the whole am commercially astute but occasionally we all get stung dont we.

Yet he has major unpaid debts, CCJ's, has bailiffs chasing him, is trying to get a 100% mortgage, spend £4K on a car and calls himself a chump !

How astute is that and of course they're not financial problems are they

Can you bully fictitious beings i.e TROLLS !

    Let's get cracking

Click here to launch the summary box and tick the box to confirm you've read it.
And when you click the link to the Summary Box it says

    Handling fees
on transactions made under promotional offer 1
    Balance transfers:2.98% (min. £3)
I didn't embolden the text - the webpage shows it in bold.

Halloway - I don't think the OP is being bullied into anything; it was their choice not to read the terms & conditions, despite (or because of?) being "Commercially astute". All I can say is god help any business that he/she has any commercial involvement in! I'm not commercially astute, but I know to read what I'm signing up to!

People on these boards tend to happily help those who show an inkling of interest in helping themselves but it's "no holds barred" on people who are too lazy to take charge of their own financial destiny and expect people to feel sorry for them.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...

Whilst I actually agree with this statement I think some of the comments here are justified when you consider some of the language used by the OP.
