Soon i might be looking to sell my yamaha ybr 125 and I was wondering if people knew of the best places to sell one?
ps. I'm not trying to sell it on ere, as that is against the rules, just looking for advice.
Thanks

Hello lincsdan86
I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Although I was sceptical at first, I have recently successfully sold a bike via a classified ad on eBay. There was the usual band of time-wasters loitering around, but a genuine buyer made enquiries and a deal was struck.
A lot of people use Autotrader as well.
Ask around at work perhaps and mention it to friends and family - you never know, someone might just be wanting to buy a bike.
Unless you're looking to part-exchange your bike for another one, I'd be tempted to steer well clear of dealers as they'll like as not offer you peanuts for the bike.
I think wherever you decide to advertise your bike, just be aware that there are scam merchants out there as well as genuine folks so be on your guard.

Thanks Fife Flyer,
I will look into the ebay classifieds0 -
plenty of people buy cheap bikes on ebay and break them and then sell them on for spares,it is very popular.
so if your bike isnt worth that much expect this to happen....work permit granted!0 -
Try https://www.therevcounter.com and https://www.visordown.com for free for sale sections.
Good luck with the sale, just remember - Test Ride you hold the full sale price. Crash it, they fix it.0 -

"Test Ride you hold the full sale price. Crash it, they fix it."
Translation: When Prospective bike buyers request a test ride, agree only when you have the full price in cash as security. If they crash it or nick it they have already bought it!

My son is in hospital after test riding a motorbike. I feel that the owner is responsible too. He should not have allowed his bike to be ridden without insurance. Now my son will be prosecuted by the police, is having an operation on his hand today, and the owner is demanding £3200.
He let my son test-ride the bike for £500 cash, as that was all he could withdraw that day. He led my son to a road to test the bike on and was encouraging him to go faster by flashing his lights, then he crashed.
Then he visited him in hospital and asked for his van keys to move his van. This was not true as he wanted to hold the van as security.
We are in an awful situation now, and I would not reccomend test-riding a bike without insurance.0
