Yes, worth every penny.
No, it doesn't cause condensation.0 -
Yes, no (used to get condensation in corner of bedroom on external wall behind wardrobe - no longer a prob after we had the cavity insulation installed).
If your on any benefits you may qualify for a full grant or at least subsidised grant.
See Energy Saving Trust website where you can search for grants.

Yes its well worth it.
We use to get a lot of condensation on our windows (old double glazing) but once we had the cavity wall insulation done we found we only got a little amount.0 -
You may want to look at this thread, which mentions potential downsides: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=10712830

I had the man come out to do the "survey" which took all of about 5 mins. It was blatantly obvious that he was rushing around doing loads per day because they are making an absolute fortune out of the government grants.
I know I have a very cynical view on this - they are all jumping on the bandwagon:D
After much research and talking to some people on the subject, decided not to proceed. Will put on an extra jumper and keep my cavities as they are, to do what they are meant to do:rotfl:Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

I had the same problem witht the first "Surveyor" who turned up. He wandered around my house and told me it was too big to be included in the grant offer. I asked him how he had calculated his measurements and he told me it was based upon "experience" and that I would have to pay almost double the British Gas quoted price.
Crap!
But I went back through British Gas and got another who not only measured my house, but also did a "test" drill to see if my house was OK for the procedure.
Result, yes! They came and did the installation which took about 5 hours, but still only about £200.00.
Lesson learned, don't believe any "cowboy" that turns up. You can still go back to your energy provder to find someone else!
Well worth the effort.0
