Security questions are getting daft

Just phoned up Barclaycard to close my account, and after going through the automated security stuff I got put through to an operator, who then asked me, for security, if I could tell her what day of the week my last birthday fell on! Completely threw me
. I've never been asked this one before, and I had to ask her to hold on while I found a calendar (how many people can actually answer this one without looking it up?).
Not much of a security question - you've got a 1 in 7 chance of guessing it correctly
Anyway - it got me thinking - what other daft questions have people been asked in the name of security?

mothers cats maiden name?! lol j/k I agree - it has became silly!xXx0

You don't have to use your real maiden name, as long as the details match.
Data mining companies could find it easily enough, especially if a relative has done a genealogy request.
For example your maiden name could be "ovhonour" (maid of honour) or "china" (made in china lol)0 -
Asking when was the last time you used card and who with and how much for, thats ok if you have 1 card and you have looked online or at you have latest statement before hand plus they expect answers like its a quiz show something like 10 seconds lol.0

They maybe daft but I doubt if someone was fraudulently calling up trying to get access to your account you'd be grateful that those questions are there.0

Agreed, but "what day of the week was your last birthday"! They already need to know your dob in order to have got this far, so it's hardly additional security.0 -
why don't they just use the CV number on the back, along with say CL .0

It turned out it WAS actually PayPal, but it was so stupid...
PP: Hello, can I speak to Mr Bennett please?
me: Speaking.
PP: Hello Mr Bennett. It's Rashindra from PayPal here. Just to check I'm speaking to you, for security can you confirm your bank account number please?
...
Did they really call you out of the blue to try and sell you something? The day that happens to me is the day I close my paypal account. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0
