Maxi ISA withdrawal

I am looking for some advice on withdrawing money from my RBS Maxi ISA, I originally invested £14K into the fund however the balance is now under £12K.

I require to withdraw some money from the fund but due to the recent poor performance I am tempted to withdraw all the balance.

Has anyone any advice to withdraw all of the fund or leave some in to possibly grow in the future?

The ISA is just a container for investments. If you are invested above your risk profile then you can reduce the risk of the investments.

However, investments do go down as well as up. Thats why you invest for the long term and not the short term. So, recent drops are not a surprise and to be expected periodically.

  • Hi,

A lot of people don't realise how powerful ISA's are. For example, did you know that there are ISA millioniares out there?

    It's true.

My advice is don't sell (or you'll kick yourself in the future) and instead keep adding as much as you can each and every year. Only draw down from your ISA pot on goal completion.

If you use time, adding each year and getting your ISA invested in the best performing investment funds, compounding will help you to make a tidy fortune.

It is possible to get 15-20% annual returns if you know what you are doing.

But its not get rich quick. You have to play the long-term game if you want to win big.

    Hope this helps.

    Your friend,

    Stephen
