I signed up for the free trial and cancelled with no problems.
I agree with YorkshireBoy, reading the terms and conditions of any free trial is impotant to make sure there won't be a 'sting in the tail'.Homeowner with 1st mortgage sine Dec 09

But I did that - and now have enough washing powder to end out the year :rotfl: and not really enough storage space. I love Egg Money, but even so...0 -
Is is annoying when people tell others not to use a company simply because THEY screwed up!
The original poster, Credit-card-tart, signed up for a months trial, the conditions of which were that to be free required cancellation within a month.
The person waited until the last week and emailed the company who told them to ring during office hours which credit-card-tart didn't do and just sent an email again despite having been asked to phone not email!
So, the company charges for the service and somehow "IT'S THE COMPANY'S FAULT - DON'T USE THEM!!"
Well if CCT had done as requested, there would have been no charge
Maybe CCT should learn to take responsibility for their own actions or, in this case, inaction!
Just confirm.
1) I read the T&Cs
2) I cancelled within the 30 day period
3) You don't have to call them, as they do accept cancellations by email
4) I have the evidence and my credit card company is refusing payment to
CreditExpert.
Therefore how can this be my fault? It is CreditExpert that has "screwed up"

So why have I received confirmation that my account has been cancelled via email. Proves that emailing is sufficient to cancel my account!0 -

When did you receive confirmation by email??
Earlier in the thread, you said...
I emailed them with 7 days to go. They asked me to call during office hours, which I could not do. So I emailed them again, this time they waited until the free 30 days had ended.
