This is interesting for me as had my second copper coil fitted a month ago. I am paranoid about getting pregnant on it.
My first one came out after a couple of months! After loads of pain having it fitted (i am a wuss!) it just came out while i was on the loo!
My first period after the fitting, which i am on now, is ridiculously heavy! The only thing I have known as heavy as this was after I had my kids. Its been a full week and am still experiencing flooding (sorry if tmi!).
I can't even use my mooncup as I think this is what caused my first coil to come out. So i'm stuck with pads which i hate!
If it works though then great as I hate taking hormones but I do worry about getting pregnant with it!
Take a pregnancy test hun and let us know how you get on. You are probably just having a heavy period and your body getting back to normal though. Looks like we will both have to get used to full on periods though!0 -

Sorry, don't mean to be nosey but I'm just a bit puzzled as to why you would have a D&C following an ectopic pregnancy
To the OP - it does sound very much like your periods are returning to normal but best to do a pregnancy check to be on the safe side. They do say your periods can become much heavier with a coil fitted, although I found the reverse to be true and mine actually became lighter! Didn't improve my PMT much though :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
ive been on the mirena for 3 years now and still get months where i will get bleeding, normally once a year or so, it was quite a while after i got it in that the bleeding settled down, so it could just be that
have you had your follow up appointment to check all is ok?
