I noticed this post back in page 8 and there was no reply - does anyone know the answer to this, as I have 2 accounts in Credit and I'd prefer to have the money in my pocket rather than theirs?

    Thanks in advance!

I too found out I had a store card £4 in credit from an account I hadn't used in several months. I contacted GE Capital and they issued a cheque no problem. I actually forgot to bank the cheque and another 8 months later remembered and asked them to please re-issue (enclosing the old one) and again they sent another cheque"auriga" casual shoe. All for £4! They were very nice about it.
The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.

Just a quick question. I was looking for a loan about 6 months back, and did a lot of searches for the best rate. This appeared to be making my credit rating worse as the interest got higher and higher until rejection. How long does it take for this search data to be cleared (I did not know at the time it would affect my rating).

Can anyone help with my credit report? Im honestly so fed up with experian and equifax! On equifax my date of birth isnt showing on my report, but shows OK against my previous address right underneath. Is this likely to cause any problems? I asked equifax to change it and they said they cant, it has to come from the council. Rang the council register thingy and they said they dont keep date of birth info, and to get equifax to amend it. Tried again but they said the same thing.

Also, if an account with not too great payment history was settled on 24/03/1999, will this disappear from my report this month (ie after 6 years)?

    Cheers

Thankyou Milky_Mocha, I'll give that a go! Better in my pocket than in theirs...

    Hi,
Just looking at past postings, and looks like it will disappear after 6 years - a long time to wait! Sorry I can't advise you on the DOB problem - are you on the electoral role? Sounds like someone in the council is trying to pass the buck or just plain doesn't know and doesn't want to admit it.

I have also got this number from Zopa and Equifax and would be interested as to what this number really means too.
  • I went on Zopa as you suggested and got a credit score of 454 is that bad?

Me too, my score was 386. How good/bad is that?
Women priests. Great. Now there's priests of both sexes I don't listen to - Bill Hicks.
