Now there are no 12 month contracts how do you get a new phone every year?

What with the death of 12 month contracts with the major networks how do you go about getting a new phone every 12 months?

I read something on the o2 forum that said with a 24 month non consumer taffif you are entitled to a new phone every 12 months. Now i'm not a member of the o2 forum so can't ask the guy to clarify but wondered if someone on here would know anything about it and could perhaps enlighten me?

Or perhaps there are some other tips that i've missed, i just like a new phone every year :rolleyes:

3 still offer a limited amount of 12 month contracts- to be honest with the price of technology and contracts coming down all the time unless you really need the latest handset I'd sit on a SIM only deal for the next few months. If you offered O2 a small amount of money for a handset they may offer you a 12 month deal, but that is a real long shot.

What I don't understand is that O2 are effectively turning down a guaranteed sum of money per year for very little outlay- they don't buy the majority of phones in for more than fifty quid I gather. So effectively they only have to source the texts and minutes and other bolt ons for the rest of the 250 quid plus. I accept that they have pay rent, customer service costs etc but still they are turning a healthy profit on a 12 month contract. With SIM only deals they are only certain of getting your custom for a month at a time, which in my opinion is the slighty more risky option- but then again I'm not O2;).
