Distance between hob and tall unit or wall unit

There's no distance specified in the regs, just a requirement that
other services such as water be far enough apart not to directly
interfere. Use common sense. The distance you might choose in a
large kitchen might mean you can't have any socket outlets if applied
to a tiny kitchen, so it's not black and white.

Not, I think if you are adding new sockets...... I believe that since this year there is a mininum distance required...... If you could prove otherwise, I would be interested to know.

if you want a read "IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition" you will find I am right it is not the best read in the world but as I am an electrician I have had to learn everything in it to do my job. There is a mininium distance a socket outlet or Fused Connection Unit has to be from the work top or Floor but even this is only a guide.

Practically, I would go for 300mm or more.
