  • ebay sell card readers at a quite reasonable price.... alot less then £6
    i got mine for £2.99
  • I'm surprised at to hear such bad reviews about the pinsentry device. As other people have said, it seems to be the best card reader that any bank offer.

I do admit that it is a pain when you misplace it and my security setting won't allow me to log in any other way, but it teaches me to be more careful where I place things. I did lose one once, I have no idea how! I had to go to the Barclays anyway and order a new card (my mothers dog had chewed it up!). In passing I mentioned to the personal banker that I had lost my reader and asked if she could order me another. I was just about to get six pound out of my pocket when she said "It's on us, Sir!".

Overall I think Barclays are great, they have been very strict when it comes to my overdrafts but I realize they are only trying to lend responsibly and for my own benefit as well as theirs!

    Hi,

I moved to Barclays a few months ago, not knowing the pinsentry was compulsory, I totally agree with you its the mose biggest annoyance known to man!

Please log-in with your card reader and select the Customise My Site link from the 'I Want To' menu. You will then need to choose the 'Set up my
5-digit passcode and memorable word' option and follow the onscreen instructions to save your details."

I however dont see this menu yet ! If anyone else does please let me know!

Im glad BArclays have finally listened to everyone complaining about this stupid thing !

I find the Barclay's PINsentry device a pain too as I have to dig out my card out of my purse which is in my bag and not usually close by at home. Then the whole ting is very time consuming and a pain. I digress. I have had the option of logging into the site using my memorable data, which I prefer as I can't lose that and it is more secure as I am the only person who knows it.

    Hi,

I've misplaced my card (still have the pinsentry in the desk drawer) and can't find it even though I know its at home (and I don't want to report it as last time I found it a couple of hours later only to have to wait 5 days for the new card as they had the old one blocked to be on the safe side).

So I've looked and looked for the page to sign in using my passcode and memorable word even though it says this is possible the only log in I can see is buy using the card and reader.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I don't want to call up only to find my card later.
