hi everyone hope u can all help.
I have been with virgin media for about 2 years now and i have always paid my bill via my delta card every month.
For some reason my bank stopped all payments going out on my card for a while (i think it was connected to them upgrading my account) and i was unaware that virgin hadnt been taken the payments out of my account.
(stupidly i know!!!!!)
The only contact they had given me that they hadnt recieved any payment was via my virgin media email account (which i have never used as i informed them i have a hotmail account) so consequently 4 months down the line they finally decide to call me where i have ammased a bill of £130 (thereabouts) I agreed a payment plan with the collections team whereby i would pay £30 a month (including my normal £20 bill so essentially i would be repaying the debt by £10 a month) i paid £30 at the end of last month fully happy the matter had all been sorted.
I went to go shopping the other day and found out virgin media had used my debit card to take out the rest of the outstanding amount. Surely this cant be legal can it???? just because they have my card on record does not mean they can dip their hand into my bank account can it????? where do i stand with this?? they only way virgin accept payment is either by keeping ur card details on record or via direct debit neither i like because i dont feel like i have any control over my finances.
help please????
