Aye, this is where the nitty gritty is.
So for items between £30-49.99 your better of listing as auction with BIN, rather than as fixed price, as it will be 5.25%+ 25p, rather than 9.9%.
...I think, or are they getting rid of BINs in auction format??0 -
For the location abusers and ridiculous P&P brigade this should be seriously bad news unless they clean up their act. I just checked one particular product line, and none of the 5 biggest sellers would be able to have an Anchor Shop based on current ratings. Only 2 (who are being honest about their location but shipping from HK) would be able to have a Featured Shop.
This at least is a very smart move by Ebay IMHO and should be good for site credibility.
The other little snippet to consider is that search ranking (in Best Match at least) will be helped by the amount of items sold per listing. In theory this should discourage sellers from whacking on loads of duplicate listings and flooding the site. If the ranking works properly it will make more sense to concentrate sales on one listing per item to improve search position.
.
That is a possible benefit, thanks for pointing it out. I know I compete with hundreds of sellers in China and eBay do nothing about them despite continual reports. However, they all list at 99p or below so clearly their profit is in their postage. As FVF are calculated on the item price only they will still get away with evading the bulk of their fees. Indeed as FVFs rise, the incentive to load your postage becomes greater.
I think the idea of listing 100 items on one listing instead of 100 single items is going to take a while to sink in. It takes a leap of faith to start to believe that customers will find your one listing and the sellers in China are so used to flooding eBay with their listings they are unlikely to change their ways immediately.0 -
Oh dear,I think I'll have to have a clear out before the new fees come in.
Most of what I sell is under £5 and BIN,so instead of 10-15p per listing ,I will be paying 40p.............kinda negates the free gallery doesn't it!
And higher FVFs too!
I can't warrant a shop so have no choice, ebay are killing off the sellers who actually started them off and made ebay the great place it used to be.
*goes off to list all her stuff before September 24th*:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
Remember it 40p for any value or multiple items and you get 30 days.0

Thanks steviebabes,
I don't have many multiples but might think of bundling things together to keep fees down.
30 days is good I suppose.:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0
