What is the best ISA for me

I have £3150ish in my First Direct ISA and the 6.25% offer has ended.
How do i go about moving the £3150 into another cash isa with out using up my yearly alowance (i.e i have not put no money into my isa from april 2005 till now, and i will have another £3000 to put into the isa by feb 2006.
There seems to be so many out there, i just need one to fit the criteria above.
If i could find an isa that has a flat interest rate with out the need of swapping it every 6 months that would be great. But i would move it if the interest rate was alot higher.
Thanks for the help

Choose a provider and ask them to transfer your ISA over to them.
You can then make deposits to your new ISA from this year's allowance.
If you want a recommendation, I've moved ours from IF to Halifax for 5%. Halifax also backdate your interest to the day after it left your previous provider.0 -

Thanks, i was looking at the Halifax ISA everyone seems to be talking about on this board.
So if i phone the number posted in the previous post, they will sort everything out for me. I.e cancel my FD isa, set up the their ISA. Also does the HALIFAX isa come with an online viewing statement and is the interest paid monthly or yearly?
Before i phone is it 5% for the account im applying for ? Cash isa?

I made an appointment and completed my application at branch - only 2 signatures required and they take care of everything.dean_ham wrote:Thanks, i was looking at the Halifax ISA everyone seems to be talking about on this board.

Just to be clear, it's the Halifax ISA Direct that you want - not the poor paying branch-based ISA.
You can view your balance online, and interest is paid annually.
