End of pups tail cut off.

Options
Before i ask for advice. Please note, it was an ACCIDENT.

To cut a long story short my mum was giving our puppy a love - hes about 5 months old now? And some how the end of the fruti cutter/blender has fell on the end of his tail and cut a bit off. I have only been in about 30 minutes so im not sure if it was bleeding for long. But when i come home, he was wagging his tail as usual, and it got blood everywhere. Anyway, question i want to ask. Is there anything i can do to see how he gets on?

Have bathed it with water, but he runs off. Have tried putting a bandage on it but it falls off. He is in bed now, seems himself.

Have tried look on the net for after care of tail docking, just to see along the lines.

And to top it all off. Its my birthday today,w hat a great present ! :(

Thanks all :) x x

If your vet has an out of hours number, I would ring that for advice.

I would definitely take the puppy to a vet tomorrow.

But saying more than that would, I think, count as medical advice. And ...

    MEDICAL ADVICE

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
