Hi all, I am asking this for my sister. She has been with aol for a few months but has not had any luck with them. She has had an intermittent service at best, and at best i mean she has probably connected twice for about 30 seconds. She has phoned and phoned. She has had a new router, bt out and spoke to tech support several times to no avail. She has phoned tonight to cancel as she has not had the internet so was gonna try bt and has been told that they are going to charge her over a hundred pounds to cancel, after previously telling her that they would not charge her for not getting internet. They even want her to speak to tech support again and try to connect even though she sent their stuff back!! They are even saying that there are no notes on her account. My question is does she have to pay for it, as in my eyes aol cannot supply her internet,so that is their fault not hers. Any help will be gratefully recieved, Thanks in advance, Becky.

Hi,
I was with AOL back 2 years ago and i had same problem i spent about £25 in calls and i spent all my time on the phone trying to solve a problem etc, i used there complaints procedure and they allowed me to switch supplier without charge within my 12 months contract as they did not provide me the service i agreed to in the contract which therefor they breached the contract which allowed me to end the contract without charge.
Here is the link on how to make a complaint.0 -
Does she have any emails/letters that say they where not going to charge her?
If she has then you can fight back and request your mac code if you then still have issues go to ofcom.Kind Regards
