Advice for a T-Mobile user

Hi all!
I moved house about 15 months ago to an area where the T-Mobile signal was a bit sketchey. About 10 months ago i renewed my contract with them as i was told that the signal quality would be improved in the area soon.
If anything the sinal coverage has got worse and rendered my phone usless at home.
Now, before I start moaning to T-Mobile and teying to get them to cancel the rest of my contract I was wondering if anybody could tell me if the lack of coverage in my area is a good enough reason to get out the rest of my contract (another 8 months worth)?

Any and all advice would be appreciated!!!

Many thanks,
Graham

Yes what an insightful post from matrix999.

I have been with them for ages and am happy for what I pay... but if you were promised something and they didn't deliver, then you could have cause to cancel. Just hope they've got notes of discussions. I always make a note of who I spoke to, team number, date and time when discussing something which could become a contractual point later...

It's not normally covered in a contract (check yours), and you even knew the signal was quite duff before you took the upgrade, so it wont be looking good.

Might sound a stupid suggestion, but have you tried disabling the 3G capabilities on your phone? (Seriously, see this thread here for more on this).

The only thing you can hope for is that you have some form of evidence to show T-Mobile promised the service would improve in that area. If yes, you might be able to get some concessions out of them.

if the improvement in signal was the basis of you agreeing to upgrade, then you have a case to cancel.

I too had a similar problem with signal on my T-Mobile contract phone (in our house we're all on different networks and everyone elses was fine), have you tried going onto their website and testing the signal strength in your area by entering you postcode etc? I did all this, tried taking off the 3G (which another poster had suggested), spent ages on their helpline to them, anyway it turned out my handset had developed a fault and that was the problem.

Hope you get it sorted anyway.
