    Sounds like ur got the same problem I had. Disconect from the net then run ur virus checks. Then.
    Right-click My Computer, select Properties and switch to the System Restore tab. Untick "Turn off System Restore on all drives". If this doesn't resolve the problem, it's likely been disabled by a virus/worm/trojan (typically a Serflog variant). If this is the case, Click Start > Run and typeregedutand press Enter. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore and delete "DisableConfig" and "DisableSR".
