  • I collected some Eukaneuba from a pet store with my voucher and took it to the local dog rescue centre. I use coupons all the time in Tesco's but would not risk the policy with this one. Hope this helps.

Great idea thank you Coupon Girl: my partner and I have decided to take a bag to rescue centre and as a bonus for my better half (as I wont give in to pleas for own dog) we are allowed to walk the dogs

  • Please can someone advise me? I don't know if I'm in the right place. I have a bundle of money off coupons for cereal (all the same). I enquired (I think it was on this thread) last week and was directed to the Tesco email saying it's ok to use coupons even if you haven't bought the item.

I used a load of the coupons on Sunday for my main shop - which was great. I've just tried a local branch and been declined. I said I'd used them before with no probs, I also said I had an email saying it was ok to use coupons etc. But they were having none of it. They called over a supervisor who said the policy is if you buy one of the item they will allow you to use 2 coupons - and it does actually say that on the email.

What can I do? I'm really short of cash and need to get something for these coupons. I will (of course) try the first branch again but I am scared of the same thing happening, maybe I was just lucky with the check out operator on Sunday.

Would I be able to use them on a self-scan check-out? Is it worth putting them on ebay in bundles of, say £10-£15? Any advice please... like everyone else I am in dire straits and can't bear to have what is (to me) good money just sitting there wasted.
  • Any advice at all please? I would really like to use these vouchers, but even the Tesco email seems to suggest I can only use them one or two at a time.

I dont think you will get much luck on Ebay as must potential buyers are aware of the stricter rules on using without buying product.

Im guessing you got them free so you have not really lost anything!!

They may work on self scan but with that many will surely need authorisation and the store may now have a policy of having to buy the item so could be embarrassing
  • Yes, you could be right. With regards to ebay, I was only thinking that some branches are obviously better than others for accepting vouchers. Also, I've read on here that Waitrose take vouchers - but there are no branches of Waitrose near me so I thought maybe people in other parts of the country could use them.

That said, I looked on ebay at the completed listings and it doesn't look like they would fetch much anyway.

I guess I'll just have to try the first Tesco again and hope for the best.

I just wondered if anyone had comments about that clause in the email that says they will only take 2 vouchers if you have bought 1 item. That kind of contradicts the other clause that says you can pay for your entire shop using vouchers (as long as they are different ones). Looks like I am stuck because mine happen to be all the same.
  • Your problem is they are all the same you can only use 1 per shop if not buying the item you will have to go to T's everyday and just buy a couple of items. What is the expiry on them? what is each one worth?

They are only 50p each. They expire in March, I think. But I have loads and I can't go to Tescos every day and only spend a small amount - I can't get out of the shop without spending at least a tenner, even if I only go in for bread and milk!!! So it would end up costing me more, plus I would have to drive 6 miles each way to get there!

They let me use a bundle of these coupons on Sunday but I think maybe I was lucky with the check out operator. Just feeling really down now because I have a migraine (which doesn't help!) and I was really counting on these coupons to help get me through the month.

Now here's a first....at the checkout in Tesco yesterday my friend was asked if she had any moc's she would like to use....now isn't that a nice change?
I used all I had today in a different Tesco with absolutely no probs at all...must be Christmas!!!
  • Just wanted to say a big public thankyou to all of you coupon people! I decided to brave it today and took £2.25 worth of MOC's to asda and they were accepted without a question even though I bought none of the products I had vouchers for. I will now be printing furiously with the aim of saving a packet off my big Christmas shop next week.

My only Grrrr is that I dont have flash player at work and a lot of the sites require it. I also cant use couponnet as I dont have administrator privaledges to download the software so I have to spend my valuable 'at home' time to print my vouchers instead of doing it at work and using the big posh colour printer LOL!
