power surge on hub port/keyboard seizes up

Options
Hi, unsure if this is a microsoft updates problem, as there were a few a couple of days ago and had this problem since. Know how to turn the pop-up message off, and already tried unplugging the keyboard and resetting the hub port but doesn't stop the seizing up. Keyboard doesn't seem faulty, although me moving the wire around was sometimes bringing on the error ... everything else running fine with machine so can't see it's the power supply. Haven't tried switching off and disconnecting everything from the mains, then reset. Just wondering if it really is a microsoft updates problem, or otherwise how to solve it.

Checking in device manager, system hub stuff ... keyboard one says keyboard needs 70 mA (of 500 mA available) and has one port available. Of the 4 host controllers, first one says 23%, other 3 say 10%. Just uninstalled the keyboard, rebooted etc, and all details are same, and problem hasn't happened in the few minutes since done this!

Many thanks, Cat

(Left pop-up message happening until know what problem is/see if solved) Thanks, Cat
