    oh, how odd.

we were just talking about it the other day. As friend wants a contract but the offers on vodafone aren't as good as O2. We were discussing how vodafone have a captive market as all them in the remote places can only use Vodafone. I've now seen a good deal for them in the 02 retentions thread so i've passed it on. thank u MSE

Try using a handset that has an external aerial, not trendy but functional in low signal strength areas.

Try camping in your back garden?
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

  • You get acessories that add en external antenna for a mobile, but they are costly, see LINK

A cheaper option, work out where you will be camping and locate a suitable mast.

    Ofcom sitefinder
The ofcom sitefinder is maybe the best solution, other than buying a sim free (unlocked) handset, and taking 5 payg sims (o2;T-Mob;Voda;Orange and 3)

I have a Vodafone handset and find them woefully poor in certain rural villages, that are not particuarly rural. Round here (in several palces) 3 have a much better coverage than Vodafone.
    baldly going on...
