How to clean blue silicon

Options
Well, I have used those thin black lining sheets to good effect, but they do tend to get slashed if I don't closely supervise the serving of pizza cooked on them. So when I saw a thick blue silicon sheet I grabbed it quick.

Trouble is, after a couple of weeks of cooking roast potatoes on it, it is now a nasty brown colour. I have tried:

neat washing up liquid
vinegar
lemon juice
water softener (after I saw what it did after I spilled some in a stainless steel sink!)

and I have scrubbed with:

a washing up brush
a yellow net thingy from Lakeland
a green scoury thing, not one with the yellow sponge on as well

The most effective thing seems to be to scrape at it with my thumb-nail, but I want to leave some time for MSE!

It has a smooth surface one side, and a slightly raised small lattice pattern on the other. It's the lattice side which is now brown - did I use it the wrong way up?

I have read some of the previous threads about silicon bakeware but didn't spot anyone having this problem ...

I don't know, but for roast potatoes I've been using it lattice side up.

I've been assured that it's pretty inert, and the brown stuff is pretty inert as well, so I needn't worry, just because it looks disgusting doesn't mean it isn't clean ...

Hey, I never said they were unhygienic! I said I wanted to be sure they weren't greasy and gross! Please don't tell me you don't wash your roasting dishes between each roast?

OK I won't. Now all you have to do is work out if I'm telling the truth or not :)
