HI again. Got declined for Mint. I was thinking of appealing. Has anyone got declined again when they appealed?

I would think it is fairly common for people to declined a 2nd time after appealing, unless you are presenting some new information that may affect the lending assessment.

I too got declined by Mint a week or two ago, my first decline ever. As I had only just closed 2x credit cards with large limits (and that had large balances on them) these probably hadn't been updated to the credit agencies and might have reflected badly on Mint's scoring. I'm going to appeal this week (has to be done within 21days). I'll also send a photocopy of my ISA savings statement.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0

Hi slydogjonah, did you check your credit report? I checked mine, and when they declined me, they did not check my credit reports.0

I only check my credit reports about once or twice a year, but imagine it takes a little time for the search to appear on the credit file.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0

Yes, I have been declined on appeal. Lloyds TSB. I had LTSB and Goldfish cards previously but both had been closed for some time, reason was that I did not meet their criteria but no explanation of what that really meant. I just rested a while then started again.0

I just got declined for a lloyds tsb card. I was gobmacked:- I guess the stoozing has caught up with me? I ave a few large balances at the moment tucked away in savings accounts. I suppoe the credit search has revealled that I "owe" a lot of money.
I think it is time to rest a while on any further applications, until after the new year.Debt Free ... ish!0 -

I called MINT to find out what more info I could supply to help backup my appeal. I was expecting an answer like "Payslip, bank statements, credit card statements, Savings statements".
Instead the chap said "A brand new credit report from experian/equifax, plus 3 months' bank statements". I asked him why a credit report was necessary when they did their own search, he replied "Because we only see very limited information in the credit search result."
Something doesn't seem right... I wonder if it might be worth letting this one go?Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

Hi guys I have a query on behalf of a friend as you were on the topic of appeals on credit card decisions thought I would add my comments to this rather than start a new thread..
My friend currently applied for a card and was declined. On viewing his credit file he noticed some errors by other creditors on hir file which he queried and had removed.
He feels that these errors may have affected hir application for the card? how does he go about appealing against the decision now that he can show that the previous footprints left by creditors ( 1 arrangement to pay & 1 late payment) were in error ( has letters to prove from creditors and apologies) and have been removed from his credit file?
Any help will be appreciated..MFWB

I was recently turned down by Lloyds TSB. I have contacted them by telephone. They want me to send them my Experian report. I feel I have the right to know why they turned me down given the information that they had at the time of their decision. Does anyone agree ? My credit searches are three by Nationwide for a mortgage. there is no data as to the success or failure of the mortgage application. My Egg money card did not generate a search.
A considerable bulk of my Experian report consists of typographic variations of the same data. My closed Capital One (circle) card is listed twice as as it took me two attempts to close the settled/unused/ account.
If Experian are going to peddle this information to third parties then they should contact the data subject to verify the integrity of the data rather than everyone having to pay them for the oppertunity to set them straight. This could be considered a trading standards issue in my view.
