I Need A Large Desk

OH has a Mikael desk from IKEA and it's huge, it wasn't too dear either. Only thing about it is he got the black one and it's a pain to keep dust and scratch free, I'd definitely recommend the paler one

Thank you everyone for your help.
I must just say that I can not do anything practical like knock up some mdf and a few bricks sadly and I'd also like a brand new desk with self assembely instuctions if possible.
I've worked hard to get onto my degree and I think I deserve a new desk instead of trying to balance my laptop on my legs as well as a drink, pens, tape, fabric etc....
But thanks for your kind advice any other ideas would be greatfully received.0 -

I like the ikea one
cheers x0 -
I treated myself to this one from Ikea. It was more than I really wanted to spend, but it's brilliant and has loads of storage space. I'm all organised now!

I kitted all the kids out with Ikea desks, of varying shapes and sizes, all bought off ebay. Two of them I got for 99p, and third one was only few pounds - so loads cheaper than Ikea, and also got them local to me - so saved on petrol as well to nearest ikea store.
I got the Table type of desks - ie top with 4 screw in legs - so much easier for moving from one room to another, and transport.
p.s Is it your first yr at uni ?
If you are a second/third year moving into private rented, you can often offer to buy bits and pieces off the outgoing student. Also, Student Union may be a good source of info re local supplies actually at your university town. Then when you leave, hopefully sell it on to the new students - saves you bringing home desks you may no longer need or have the space for !0 -

Try suppliers of second hand office furniture-desks won't be lovely, but they are functional0

I was in the same boat - thought i deserved a nice big practical desk.
So took a trip to my local 2nd hand place (sells alsorts of house stuff from clearances ect) and found the PERFECT desk for...£10!!
Fits in my room perfectly and fits my computer, textbooks, 4 pen holders (i like pens
) and i have LOADS of room to do my uni work.
Worth checking out, look in yellow pages or ask around your friends or local shops in your area to see if they know of any second hand warehouse places.0
