jam jar challenge!!!

ive never saved up really, wen i was little i never had a money box / piggy bank and ive never used a savings account just to save up so i thought id start small ive noticed a lot of money box clubs on here but the 20p/£1/£2 savers club woud take me ages as i have very little money and very rarley take cash out (all bills DD and money for papers and window cleaner taken out at the beginning of the month.) i dont have cash on me because i dont buy anthing (its really that tight:eek: ) but we sometimes have small change that lives on the side board so i have made an empty jam jar my silver jar cut a hole in the top taped the lid on and im going to put all the silver i find in it and when its full i will pay it off my EGG CC!!!
So this challenge is great for people who dont have loads of change lying around and want to save up - maybe when the next jam jar is free i may start a copper one and if all goes well even a gold one for £1 coins but ill start small for now.
People joining the challenge below!!! feel free to join in and ill add you to the list!!!

Well done cady - I have stacks of jars all filled with varying bits of change:
2p, 1p, 5p (I cant stand them), 20p, £2
Everything else gets spent.:rotfl:0 -

I have an empty jar I was about to recycle..I will start with only silver and see how it goes...In Jan 2007 I had a debt of £27,896.00 :eek:In October 2011 I paid it off and owned £0.00 - Kinda proud of this!:T0 -
this is a great idea well done you will use that when my tin is full and it will save the cost of the tin, well done you the best ideas are always the simple ones.

Whooooo, I love change jars! I've got one I take to HSBC when its full as they have those new machines that allows you to deposit the change without sorting it out first! I tend to save 5p's and below... the rest I use but I'll change that rule to 10p and below!Smile more often, it's FREE :hello: Live on £4000 for a year stalker!0

lol - love it when I find money in pockets etc! We have a jar on our mantle peice, it's open incase we need to use it, but we're quite good at just chucking change in there (up to 20p, everything else gets spent!)
Where do you guys 'change' your change?? I used to use the machine at my supermarket, but they charge you a %...Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
