Home vs Business Broadband please?

Options
We currently have BT business broadband, at £30 per month, but could really do with cutting our costs. We are out in the countryside, with a local exchange which has not been unbundled, and offers us 512 Kb (due to an a rather puzzling exchange upgrade which took us down from 3 times that speed - on phoning BT about this, they explained that the line hadnt really supported our previous speed, which was odd at it seemed fine at the time.) Since this 'upgrade' we have suffered intermittent disconnections which is really irritating, I end up taking the laptop to use McDonalds free broadband.

I run a web design business from home, so need to be connected all the time, also need unlimited downloads / uploads. The question is the pros and cons of having a business vs a home broadband account to save money. Obviously we are not getting a good service from BTs business broadband.

Would be grateful for any helpful observations or feedback on this dilemma.

im stuck with business BB because i only have a business line. as far as i can see, with BBB i get a quicker response if the line is down but at a price. am thinking of getting a res line and then going for 1 of the many cheap deals.
so for me res BB, check with your accountant if you go res that you can put the bill in as vat will not show,

I used to have Bt Business broadband over a business line, once the broadband contract was up I switched to a 'normal' LLU ISP. If there are faults on the line I still get the business service for that as that remains on the BT business package. I have slightly more risk on tehbroadband side as not using a business packae but so far have had no need
