Potential Free upgrade with NO Contract.....

Found this while looking for genuin half price line rental...

I have placed an order and recieved my order confirmation email but have not yet recieved the confirmation dispatch email.

The deal is , This is meant to be an upgrade, but no where through the order does it require your mobile number, only optionally.

Through the whole order process it states that this is free

Even though I had to give my bank details as this order process has a credit check system

After clicking link, scroll down to the last phone of the list, it will state
From Free to 299.00

But its an upgrade therefore you have to be on an exsisting tariff with o2.

Can't quite see how this is gong to work. When you click through to buy the phone for free, it says 'You have ordered 1 item, subject to a 12 month contract.'

For this reason and as they have your bank details, I should be careful about entering into any contract on these terms expecting a free phone unless you are happy to follow the contract through for the 12 months stated.

But if through ordering it states Free line rental, should it matter if its a 12 month contract ?????

I read T&c the only thing I can see is under Priceing was where they state pricing is correct for one month of advertising a product

If I was to get the phone and they did charge line rental wouldnt I be able to argue that Line rental stated free ???

Anyone have any suggestions

When I click on it, it says from Free to £299, existing tariff. I am an O2 customer, but only pay as you go. This isn't listed in the tariff list, so presumably the offer is only available to contract customers.
I imagine the free phone goes with expensive line rental, and the progressive increase in price for the phone goes with the cheaper rentals.
However if you can get a free phone AND free line rental go for it!
Don't forget to print AND save all the details so you can argue if there is a problem, and good luck!

It says under price £TBC (as in to be confirmed) - I rather suspect that this does not mean free.....

Never mind, hopefully ill have better luck next time.

Customer services did ring me to day about my order but I wasnt in, ill give them a ring tomorrow and see what they say.

probably phoning for your mobile number to work out the cost of the upgrade.
