Given notice to cancel 3 mobile, can I still PAYG?

Gave my 30 days notice 2 weeks ago. Straight cancellation. In case they dont come up with an offer in time, can I still ring them and transfer the number to PAYG at cancellation point, or it too late ( like you have to do it when you give the 30 days notice ) ? And does that mean the number stays with my current phone, it just becomes PAYG as opposed to contract ?

If it cancels then no you cant do anything about taking the number to pay as you go. If they havnt offered you anything by now, I wouldnt have thought they were going to to be honest. You could ring them now while the number is still live and ask for a PAC and take your number to another network if you need to keep the number?
  • When I gave cancellation notice they asked if I wanted to transfer the number to PAYG but I said no because tbh I thought I'd get a new deal off them.

Now it looks like I'm not going to get a new deal I wondered if that transfer to PAYG option was still available, as I'm not at my cancellation date yet. Or if you can only do it when you give your notice.

Ring back and ask for it to go to PAYG - but so far as I am aware your 30 day notice period will start again (likewise, if you request a PAC it will start your 30 days again).
