Any opinions on this?
Would it be a good car for me, 3 kids and a big dog?
Dont know the full details, which model it is or how much t&t is on it or even what colour it is yet, just know its an old mans car and a 3 door. I'm going to look at it tomorrow morning, he said he'll be looking for a bit over £1000 for it, dont know how big a bit tho! But does that sound reasonable for a car that age with such low mileage?

One has to wonder how a 10 year old car only has 20k on the clock. I'd be very suspicious. Even if it is genuine, leaving a car lying round is not good, cars need to be driven or things can deteriorate.0

If that mileage is genuine then i'd say yes because they are good cars built to last.get the engine checked out though because if its only ever done short journeys and never properly got up to temperature it could be a little choked up.9 times out of 10 a bit of an italian tune up works a treat.happymummy wrote: »Any opinions on this?

This is what I was thinking, just because it hasnt been used doesnt mean it wont be a rust bucket, especially considering I live near the sea.
On the other hand tho, it might be in mint condition and garaged, in which case, is it worth paying a bit extra for?Remember...You are not a salmon!0 -
Best thing to do is get a mechanic to look at it for you or get an AA inspection but it sounds to me like it could be a good buy.happymummy wrote: »This is what I was thinking, just because it hasnt been used doesnt mean it wont be a rust bucket, especially considering I live near the sea.

Well time will tell.
My dad is going with me to test drive it and things.
I've no reason to doubt the mileage, it was my dad who spoke to the man on the phone and he said he sounds pretty old!
I just hope its not white, or red!Remember...You are not a salmon!0 -

Apparently the mans wife has been using it recently but they dont need 2 cars anymore so he's persuaded her to keep their merc and sell the nissan.Remember...You are not a salmon!0

buy it!! we bought a 4 year old focus with only 2500 miles on the clock. It may as well have been a new car without the new price tag. Main thing was that even though it only had 2500 miles on the clock, it had been serviced annually even if it had only covered a few hundred miles that year. We have had the car for 2 years now, the mileage is 30000 (still low) and its been excellent. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

I would be looking for a full service history and would expect it to be serviced roughly once a year and anything less I would be concerned about.0
