As long as there is no serious rust, and it drives OK, just buy it, it should be just fine and will no doubt prove to be very reliable.;)
Don't worry about the colour, only people outside of the car see that in the main.0 -
HJ has some info on what to watch out for: Honest John Car-by-Car Breakdown
Nissans are solid in terms of reliability but the bodywork on these Almeras is prone to rust. Sadly since joining forces with Renault they've taken a slight hit in the reliability department but that's not applicable to this 1998-9 reg

one of my neighbors friends wife (tenuous but i saw her and the car) had until about 2 years ago an A reg ford escort with 12k miles on the clock, the mot was one of the longest trips it ever did. she didnt like driving but wanted a car in case of emergencys so they got it new and she wouldnt let her husband replace it as she was scared of learning a new car.
very low millage cars do exist but frankly i wouldnt see it as much of a selling point, most engines etc these days will happily do 200k with little more than the odd oil, spark plug and cam chain change.0 -
Oh well we went to see it but I didnt buy it. He wanted £1k but the tax and mot run out next month, it was starting to rust and the interior was disgusting, not as in dirty or anything just sore on the eyes and not exactly comfy.
So, back to the drawing board.
Thanks for all the replies anyway
