Had a thought: there is an article on the main site which might be helpful. Probably not for increasing his income on a regular basis, although possibly for covering music lessons, and certainly for 'emergencies'. I think it links to a discussion as well.

I think ELF was as mentioned in post 8, he had that last year because he was over 18 and still got EMA - it was extended?!

Hopefully the college will help - especially the Access to Learning Fund sounds promising, and have a few sites to check for grants as well0 -

Right, was that what the EMA extension was called? I hadn't come across it before.
(I do hope your client is doing most of this research himself.)0 -
So far, he's going to get in touch with college to ask about the access fund, he has a whole list of grant giving charities to contact. But, :mad: he was told he will probably have to give up his A-levels because he won't be entitled to income support for much longer and will have to be available for work :mad:0
