Bought it paid £1100 for it it's in perfect nick with genuine 37k all mot's and service history the guy even has the cam belt changed every 4k!

That can't be right surely? Cam belt every 4k equates to every year on this car.

Agree, if it isn't the cambelt that's been done every year (and I can't see it being that as that smacks of total overkill), get it done now in case it snaps.

Yeah cambelt every 4k I agree it's total overkill the guy bless him says the garage told him it didnt need doing but all he kept saying is "well it's better to be safe than sorry" lol.

At least I know it's been really looked after it really is in mint condition inside as well as out.

The mileometers on Mondeos do show the 100,000s. I've just bought two LX TDs one for £550 S reg 157K and one for £300 R reg estate 139K. Check for rusty rear arches...
  • Bought a Nissan with similar situation and cambelt had been changed every 4,000 miles reason being that in the book it says 40,000 or 4 years, so as it had been serviced by a main dealer they stick to it.

  • What sort of Nissan was that? Presumably either pre-1990 or diesel, as newer petrol Nissans are chain-cam and as a result generally never need to be changed until they start to rattle as the engine clocks up mega-miles.
  • An old style micra which had 29.000 miles on it.
