  • For those of you who have Christmas babies...I'm another one! My little girl is a Christmas Day baby though. The funny thing is I had said all the way through my pregnancy I didn't care when the baby came as long as it wasn't Christmas Day! She was obviously listening & had decided that she was going to be my Christmas present after all & boy did she keep me waiting!

I got most of her presents for her 1st birthday about a month after she was born when our local Boots store was being refitted & selling loads of toys at really cheap prices...There's a big stash under the bed all ready & waiting for her. :D

I was worried my little girl was gonna be a christmas day babe, and I was panicking with having 2 little boys at home waiting for santa to come, and I wanted desperately to see their faces, christmas morn, as you do!! Luckily my babe was early hours xmas eve, so I was home in tme, mine kept me waiting too!! Must be a girl thing!! Anyway, well done on getting her toys early in the sales, I got waht I could, especially in the Boots 50%, 75% and finally 95% sale, but not many were toys, managed to get quite a few toys in Tesco sale after xmas.

Anyway, to make this Boots related, happy Bootsing!! I shall raise a glass to all of us, christmas day, in celebration of all our deals found(tho Ive not managed to see most of them!!) and I shall raise an extra glass for those who were pregnant/ in labour last xmas,
if you cant have what you want, be grateful for what you have :T

Ive just received this email from Boots
You can save £5 when you spend £30 in store by simply
clicking the link below and printing out your voucher.
Then you can take it to your nearest stockist store.
    Find your nearest store here.lp_cta_print.gifvoucher_v3.jpg

Just wondering if this could be combined when doing a couple of glitches, for example,

2 x No7 £10 items (BOGOF) till will see £10 at end of transaction
    GWP
Time delay £5 item till will see £15
    2 x TS till will see £22
2 x mitchums till will see approx £25
any other purchases £5 till sees £30

use printed coupon first, reducing to £25
No 7 pinky, recucing to £20
time delay spit, reducing to £15
TS mag voucher, reducing to £9
    2 x mitchum 50% off, reducing to £6

Really not sure all that would work together, but would be great in theory!!! Must be some combos.

Came back from Boots this afternoon and was gutted to find that all the reduced perfumes have gone to the normal price  I went there yesterday checking the prices as my sister wanted me to buy for one for her. Oh well... She has to wait until Christmas then

So if SA scanned the baby rice coupn twice then we would need 2 rice coupons rather than 1 rice and 1 cereal?
No, I don't think he scanned it twice (although it might be posible though). The fact is that he scanned Baby rice (an item) twice (although I bought 2 different boxes - one of rice and one of cereals, but they looked similar, so Sa might thought I just bought 2 pack of rices) and then he scanned both coupons (one for rice and one for cereal).
Although I bought rice and cereal, I assume SA scanned 2 x rice (as receipt shows only them). The most interesting thing is that the till still accepted cereal coupon, leaving me to pay -1p.
So i assume half price baby cereal coupon knocks half price of each rice or cereal pack you buy in transaction. Also baby rice coupon knocks half price of any rice pack bought in transaction.
Someone reported that bought baby rice+cereals (1.49+1.79) and after both coupons left only 88p to pay (1.49+1.79-0.75 rice coupon -0.90-0.75 cereal coupon = 0.88)
    and I bought 2xbaby rice= 1.49+1.49-0.75-0.75 rice coupon -0.75-0.74 cereal coupon=-0.01)
If that's right, is it possible to buy, eg 10 rice packs and give 2 coupons (for rice and cereals) - IMHO it should work leaving you nothing to pay? :o
  • For those still seaching for the elusive magazine... I spotted LOADS in St Helens Town Centre Boots this morning. Don't bother looking in the store at Ravenhead Retail Park....they don't have any:(

Just been festivel park-Nothing reduced in electricals and hardly any perfumes reduced .The shelf was full of mostly body lotions and a couple of other perfumes which weren't exactly bargains- such as rock& rose and agent provocateur maitresse. They only have miss dior cherie eaudde printemps reduced to £29.97 and j'adore limited edition with shimmer £23.No reductions on poison elixer or sjp or J p gaultier.
I just started at the lee stafford hairdryer and came back-didn't even spend my no7 vouchers as was so dissapointed.
    Love can tame the wildest

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker Photogenic
Hello all, :hello:I'm just after a bit of advice really. The single Advantage Card machine (there used to be two) in my local Boots store has been broken for over a month so I have avoided doing any big shops; it was finally fixed on Wednesday morning, but by the time I went to use it at about 11.30am it was broken again and the SA was unable to help. I spent just over £34 in my transaction and was obviously unable to use any total spend vouchers.

I emailed CS to complain and the response was that someone in store had confirmed the machine was working that morning and that there has only ever been one machine in my store. I was awarded 200 points, but I am feeling a bit peeved because I would have got 250 points for a £30+ spend if the machine had been working and the implication seems to be that I am lying. Should I respond to the email again or am I just reading too much into it because I'm having a cr*p day?

    Thanks.
Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.... :/
  • Just wanted to post to say a huge thank you to everyone who takes the time to contribute to this thread. I've been coming on here since Easter time and can't believe that I seem to have acquired stuff to beautify literally every part of myself for pennies, when I would normally have had to shell out loads. In a lot of cases - particularly haircare, it's far nicer brands than I would usually buy!

Hair - Formally looking raggy with a 2 in 1, now well cared for with TS shampoo and conditioner, Umberto Giannini deep conditioner, John Freida frizz-ease and TS serum.

Nails/ hands - formally totally overlooked, now groomed with my JK nail file and No. 7/ No.17 nail polishes and Olay Total Effects hand cream.

Face - formally a soap and water girl, now glowing after make up properly removed with JK wipes, cleansed, toned, moisturised with a variety of products from TD, Olay, No. 7 etc

Body - No more supermarket bath foam when you've got Soap and Glory shower gels and body butters and No.7 anti cellulite balms and tan maintainers.

Make up - far too many lovely No.7, No. 17, Ruby and Millie and Jemma Kidd items to even list, all living in my nice free bag!

This thread and everyone on it are invaluable to anyone wanting to look nice and get a shopping fix while still managing to pay off their debts xx
