Need advise....
I've just seen this car crawl up and down our road, stopping infront of each house for a few minutes and then move up to the next house. I thought this looked dodgy so I walked up the road and knocked on his car window. He had a laptop on his knee and said he was looking for hotspots for internet connection. I told him I thought it was more likely he was trying to access someones unsecure server and suggested he go somewhere like mcdonalds or starbucks.
Luckily I am secure but I know there is a few around her that arnt. Don't know what info he can get from this, if its dodgy and should report it to ...? or if its just someone trying to cadge a freebie as he said he'd just moved in the area and not set up his connection yet.
whatcha think? dodgy or shud be ok?
Plus now fed up as missed 1st half or corrie :rotfl:0 -

This day gets better and better.
Just called sky to cancel our account cause we weren't going to have it at the new house, and got put through to someone else via the indian call centre.
Now I've read about the deals sky give in the freebie section, but I was actually going to cancel.
Anyway, I've come away with a free sky+ box, free instillation and because they can't install till 1st sept they've also given my some credit on my bill.
Woohoo, so I've treated hubby to sky sports for one month so he can watch the ryder cup.0 -

I think he'd be better off in McD's as you said, if he's genuine!
I think he may have been looking for free access, more than likely the only problem would be exceeding a download limit for the ignorant person he pinches it off, but there could be consequences for the pincher see here (U.S story)
You did good to warn him off!Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

It was people personal details like cc etc that I was worried about, but I didn't know if I was being over anxious like I usually am lol. Had no idea people used it for the other vile things mentioned. I took down the reg just in case
I think you were very brave to knock on his window! I know I probably would have done as well, but even so, very brave & I think you just saved some poor soul from having their limit exceeded for the month & other nastiness (potentially). If he really had just moved into the area then his mind should be put at ease that nothing dodgy will happen near his house - although I have to say I don't believe him (how's that for a snap judgementmy first thought if I'd just moved house & had no connection would be (a) stupid cow for not sorting one out quicker & (b) where is the nearest internet cafe!)
Good on you white*star!Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0
