The Compers Inn part 4

Jealous of all your nice food... DD and I just chowed down on Value beans on toast (I ran out of her organic reduced salt/sugar ones, but it won't hurt for once!) and are now sharing a rhubarb Muller rice... must go shopping before 4!!!
Right, on to my comping story. I won 4 VIP tickets to V Festival, where I should be right now! But the problem is, I have been awake for a week with the baby and didn't think I'd really enjoy it. So I decided at the last minute that my little bro and I would go on a road trip to Stafford to sell them. Hell, it's a day out!
Right, got lost loads but eventually found some touts on the side of the road. Was very glad to have my bro with me, as he's 6 foot 7 and bloody scary! The touts were offering silly money, such as 100 quid for 2 tickets. I thought that was ridiculous. They were busy conning some guys in a van when we got there, so my bro strolled over to them and sold them 2 of our tickets for 250 quid each (yay!).
Then we noticed the other 2 tickets were actually for Chelmsford. Boo! We were not driving to Essex. So we tried our luck with another tout. This guy was not the best choice, as he was huge and scary. Showed him the tickets and kept jabbering, always remembering to cover up the Chelmsford bit on the ticket. He handed over 250 quid for the two (bargain if they had been for Stafford!) and we drove off like the clappers!
Only to find out that we'd have to go back the same way to get home. We did a reluctant U turn in my bro's tempermental Corsa and headed back. We knew he'd recognize the car! We were terrified! He had realised what we'd done by then and started shouting, swearing and chasing the car. I was too scared to even look back!
We drove for about 15 miles before we stopped to breathe...
Anyway, after giving my bro 100 quid for the danger (and to put towards his supplies for college in October), I am left with 650 to buy a new fridge freezer and possibly a washing machine!
Yay for comping!!!Best wins: Luxury weekend in Russia, family holiday to France, catered BBQ for 20, Selfridges shopping spree, jolly to Majorca, £1,000 See Tickets vouchers, £500 John Lewis vouchers, five-star weekend in Provence!

3 boiled kettles, and 4 saucepans of boiled water later.........
I'm now clean (as best as one can be in about 4 inches of water)! I've also come up with a cunning plan to clean the whole family tomorrow - we'll go swimming and make full use of their showers! Then hopefully British Gas will have been round and fixed the boiler.

Yay for comping!!!Well done on your profits and have fun spending (even if you did have to endure a bit of danger - I would have been terrified)!!

I've been following your ordeal love and all I can say is that it's very admirable that you can still smile!
It was all a bit scary and dangerous, and not my best idea. But I don't actually have a washing machine or freezer... and my fridge makes an odd noise and leaks everywhere!
Just about to head to Comet with my flash negotiating skills and see what I can get for my money.
