Don't have extensions, you will weaken it futher.Try to improve the condition.I would recommend kerastase maquintense deep conditioning treatment masque. Look up stockists,it can only be bought from hairdressers, and is about £24,but it's the best deep conditioner I have ever used and has won a few product awards. It lasts a long time.
You can name the salon.0 -
One month ago, I went to get bleach hightlights (half-head) after having two full heads before.
I've hard water so keeping my blonde is difficult.
But it wasnt the colour, it was lovely.
It was my colourist. It was the free cut included!!
I told her I wanted to keep my length. It was thick at the bottom and wanted it more tendril like. Pointed to a promo picture of a girl with a full fringe that started from further back on my head. I asked for the fringe from the pic...but keeping my lengths. I was aware I had to make sure she knew what i wanted.
Instead of snipping of lengths til it got to a fringe length I liked she wacked it off at 2inches to start with. I was DUMBFOUNDED with shock and mute with fear. It was too late.
Whilst razoring my lengths I couldn't really see how much she was taking off.
My shoulder blade length hair with cheek skimming fringe...became an irregular Suzie Quatro-esqe mullet...with an uneven fringe, unable to wear it in a middle shade. The thick ends were still thick but 3 inches shorter in the front, and shorter at the back. Part of my fringe on one side had bits missing the layers are so bad.
If a colourist can trim. TRIM!!! If a colourist is daunted by your request....put the scissors down, get another person....(not a colourist but a stylist) or say you can only do trims.
Now my lovely longer hair which I was looking forward to making blonder...and the colour is lovely....is runied by the fact...it'll take a year or more for it to grow into a length that will have a style.
I spent the 5 mins after leaving the salon crying. I spent three solid days after crying. In shock. I have to walk past the salon.
But I'm tempted to go in...and ask why a colourist is allowed to cut, or attempts to cut...when it seems she was well out of her depth and never admitted it.
It's a month later. No extenstions will fix this. No re-cut will fix this as my fringe (uneven) is 1inch at it's shortest.
I've to straighten to style it which I don't want to do.
Should I go in and say that though the cut was free...she has ruined my hair...and a want free colour for the roots to make it more bearable..growing out....cos I will never go there for a CUT again.
I'm leaving that to Toni & Guy Salon in Belfast.
I don't want a refund....I want them to compensate my hair in either colouring it or funding my next cut.
i'm still upset one month later. Drying my hair drives me to tears. It's even made me withdrawn and nervous and paranoid that people think I ASKED to have this ridiculous hair-CUT.
Any suggestions?0 -
I can't imagine why you would leave it a month to complain, surely the right time was the day it was cut.
I have had some pretty horrendous cuts in my time, mainly thanks to my wannabe-hairdresser sister  but I don't think I have ever been withdrawn, paranoid and nervous.Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0 -
Oh come on, post the pics, post the pics0

Women will waste their money on unnecessary haircuts etc.....
Makes me well pleased I'm male and can just get a £20 set of clippers from Argos and do it myself every so often.
Total spend on my hair this year = £0
I don't feel sorry in the slightest for those that want to waste money in a salon and let someone else touch their hair.0 -
..you get rid of your skybox-we'll get rid of our hairdresser..0

i hate to tell you this but if your hair is as short as i think it is from your descrption - extensions will not hold for very long and will break off - also they take a lot of care to maintain so this will not help if you dont have much time. If your hair is long enough to hide you could get some clip in extenstions that you take out at night (they're easy to put in and wont damage your hair)
Most hair dressers will offer a refund but i think they will fight nail and tooth not to pay for any more treatment.0 -

you really wont like what im about to put, and im sorry but . . .
you will not get a refund from T&G nor will they give you any styling/colours for free . . the reason being
1, you walked out of the salon a seemingly happy customer and didnt say to them that "this is not what i wanted im not paying" so they could fix it
2 you've waited a MONTH to complain. You CAN NOT seriously expect them to do anything about it now.
can i just ask - what did you book in for?
I've worked at T&G and know that colourist (gonna sound stupid this is) do COLOURING, not cutting. The only way a colourist will cut hair is if the person they are working on turns round at the last minute and says "can you cut my hair" and there is no stylist available. So she/he was trying to do you a favour - they could of said, well no, book in and pay for a cut (cant remember the prices but a junior is normally £22) in exception to when the colourist is training, and you would of been told before hand, seeing as you wasnt told then this was not the case.
Have you considered the fact that the picture you handed them was not suitable for your face shape etc? they could of thought - well that pics got *** face shape and the client has ** face shape, it wont suit, but a bigger fringe might?
Also, T&G have their own training schemes, a junior is actually a level 2 (level 2's are hair dressers/colourists in any salons but T&G like them to be level 3's before they will class them higher than a junior)
I think it is wrong you have named the salon, you've already said it was a lovely colour - you was upset by the cut, which you did not get a stylist to do, nor did you pay for a cut. A lesson well learnt i expect but there is another 11 people who probably work in that salon who have just been tainted by 1 colourist who upset you.
get some kirby grips, pin your fringe back and wait for it to grow - easiest solution.
(and im sorry i sound like a cow! xx)0 -
Hi Oz Valdo,
I really symphatise with you, as myself, like many other women, have walked in your shoes in one way or another (burnt hair with perm, highlights, hacked off 20 instead of two inches, awful brassy color that just won't be fixed, uneven cut...the list is endless.) Do you know how many times I got tempted to go "Britney", just not to have to deal with my straw any more?
All I can say to confort you that IT WILL PASS. If you take care of your hair now and take some good vitamins religiously, it will grow very quickly and all of this nightmare will be firmly behind you.
I strongly recommend Vitabiotics Skin Hair Nails vitamins. They are available in Boots, but you can find them much cheaper on ebay. They make your hair and nails grow really strong and very, very fast. You will notice the difference after about a month.
Also, a good protein treatment is a must (to strenghten the hair) followed by the moisturizing treatment.
I don't think you should go for the extensions, as your own hair is very weak, so they probably won't hold and the damage will be even greater.
What I suggest you do is ask your original salon to do you 10 or even more, weekly deep protein treatments, to help your hair back to the original condition.
I myself use Nexxus Emergencee, it is brilliant. You can read on www.makeupalley.com all about it. Actually, that website is great for skin/hair care recommendations.
But with all protein treatments, it is important to do the moisturizing conditioner straight after, as protein strengthens the hair, but does not moisturize it.
I totally understand how you feel, but just remember that it will grow back. Luckily, autumn/winter is just around the corner, so perhaps you can buy some cute headscarves or caps to wear outside until your hair recovers.
If you really can't cope, there are some brilliant wigs these days to be bought that look great, very natural. I went to Selfridges the other day, and stumbled across their wig section, what can I say, I had a great fun trying all the wigs. Unfortunatelly, they are not the cheapest solution, but they are the last resort, if you really can't cope.
All the best, let us know how you went.0
