    I think we have the site in one or other of the indexes.

    I'm going to need a pudding basin that fits into my pot too!

    Waistline and shopping list AND shopping bill expanding!

    reminds me of my mil...she swears by her delia cookbook but couldn't understand why her chutney recipe (from delia of course) was total bland mush.... might have something to do with delia telling her to cook it for 3 HOURS!

    sheesh! i've never cooked mine for more than 45 minutes and that's when there's a huge pot full!

    speaking of slowcookers and christmas pudding (which i don't care for either) you can make your christmas puddings in the slowcooker which will help your entire house from being covered in condensation which then might happen to ruin a perfectly good monitor... not that that's happened to me or anything :eek: ;)

    works very well in the slowcooker and it's very simple too...

    i fear i don't have the recipe anymore but basically you make up your mix to your own tastes
    place water in the slowcooker then place a bowl or trivet etc into the water. put your bowl filled with pudding mixture on top of that bowl make sure the water only goes about half way up the side of your christmas pudding bowl (i *think* that's right) then cover and cook for many many hours...

    i tried googling it but got a bunch of stuff that wasn't quite right... i think it came from 'the best slow cooker recipes ever' or something like that (sold it on ebay last year :rotfl: )

    I made that lemon sponge yesterday - it was very runny as it was mixed and I thought they must know something I don't and so followed the recipe exactly.

    What I got was a bowl full of (admittedly delicious) lemon sauce with about half an inch of sponge on top.

    I reckon the quantities given for flour and sugar were the wrong way round.

    I told my mum that she could borrow my slow cooker but as she has a wood burning rayburn she will do it on that and boil for a million hours ok ten and she is waiting for a nice day so she can have the kitchen window open.
