Neither of my sons live in this country anylonger .they have very limited or no access to internet or phone .Ihave tried to explain and my son has treid to sort the problem via email asking for my name to be put on the account. This is not possible sothey say and must be sorted over the phone.I have read some real horrer stories on the web about AOL and wounder if as i have do not have an account with them,so they say, when i move in a matter of months and stop paying the DD what will happen? All i really want to do is get my name on an account that i pay for PLEASE HELP IN ANY WAY YOU CAN

thats really strange as its coming out your bank account anyway, i wonder if trading standards could help you or failing that, someone rings up and says theyre your son?

There's nothing strange about it. OP is not the account holder. Keeping in line with the Data Protection Act, AOL will not discuss account specific information with anyone other than the account holder. Trading Standards have nothing to do with it.

    Which would be illegal.

OP, to stop money being collected from your bank account by AOL - just cancel the Direct Debit. Your son, the holder of the AOL account, is responsible for cancelling his account. He can call 0844 499 5555 (from outside the UK, dial +44 117 919 1100) or email canceluk@aol.com and his cancellation request will be processed.

Best thing you could do is Ask for your mac code and change providers if they are causing you problems.

I say ask for your Mac code as you can do this via email I believe if not then you can always get your son to do it and they will send the email to the Main account registered with them.

o2 has recently seen a lot of good reviews maybe check to see if they are in your area on LLU and if you have a mobile contract with them you will also get discount.

This website will tell you what is at your local exchange in the way of llu http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php
    Kind Regards
