Help with cam belt please

The 1.4 engine on Corsas are well known for cambelt/tensioner failure. Normally it's the plastic pulley parts that fail/shear/ When you buy a Vauxhall cambelt kit it includes new pulleys etc. The 1.4 engine was orginally subject to a 80k cambelt replacement policy when they first came out. Then this was amended to every 40k.

It may not be the Dealers fault, however he/she is still subject to the Sale of Goods Act.

Bit like the IS200 - was 100k :eek: but is now 60k.

OP - couldn't you try and source a secondhand engine? That is if the dealer turns out to be a tw*t.

He pulled off the road - and then got the horrible noise.......... the AA then took over.

no it wouldn't,the oil light isn't oil level,its oil pressure.so it can have as little as 1 litre of oil and still show as having oil pressure.

lost oil pressure and engine has siezed. thats what i think has happened.

in that case im changing my mind then,definatly the giggle pin caused this fault.
