Playing iPod in car

I'd go for an FM trasmitter for your iPod because if you change your head unit for a CD one, you can still use the FM transmitter with it. You can get transmitters with a cigarette lighter charger on the other end so you can charge your iPod at the same time too which saves connecting it to a laptop all the time or buying an expensive mains charger.
I'd recommend the one that I've got - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-TuneFM-iPod-Digital-transmitter/dp/B000IZO7F6
As for buying new music, if you buy from places such as itunes, you are usually limited as to how many PCs you can play the tracks on and also don't get CD quality versions. I'd recommend buying the CDs from somewhere like play.com or bangcd.com and 'rip' the tracks from them using itunes. This way you get to choose what quality you want to rip them at (higher quality means larger files though) and there are no restrictions. Plus if you're PC blows up, you've always got the CD to revert to as ipods don't allow you to copy music back to your PC.
Just for clarity, not all people who use torrent sites are downloading illegally otherwise they would all be shut down. Some people, albeit the minority, use them to download music as a backup to those they already own. Some internet service providers such as Tiscali, BT etc may write to you if you have been downloading loads however as it will affect their bandwidth usage. I often download an album via torrents before I buy the CD to listen to what it is like in full rather than 30 second clips from itunes. I don't see the harm in this as I wouldn't, for example, buy a car I haven't test-driven, just because the designer and manufacturer has put in a lot of effort. I would listen to the CDs in the shops but they don't seem to want to do this any more which is a shame.
Anyway MrsJackBauer, hope some of this has helped!0 -
