What Broadband - overwhelmed!

Options
Hi, just moved into a new flat and need broadband and probably a landline. Previous owners had Virgin Cable so that is possible, I am also an O2 customer so their broad band is possible.

I am happy with my freeview recorder but would take Virgin cable if I could get it (very) cheap - provisional look seems that once you add V+ it starts to get to over £30/m.

My working out are above - some of the virgon deals are ones people have bartered from this forum....

By my reckoning I'm best with the O2 broadband - 8 mb would be great as I have a new PS3 to play online!

Are there any wangles to get Virgin or any other offers I'm missing.

Maybe my workings out will help somebody else as well

Comments

  • I am assuming that if I went for Virgin to play with there new feature (iplayer, View on demand etc) then I could concurrently run my Freeview recorder using another scart on the TV?

I am tempted by Virgin but don't want to pay a fortune for it!

My ideal would be 10mb, small tv package and cheap V+ for somewhere around £20/m.......have I got no chance?!

I've went way off Virgin recently. I've been a long term customer of theirs for about 11 years and I'm considering moving to O2. I seen a thing on the BBC website that said O2 was faster on average over the full day because of Virgin's limitations.
  • Looks like i may be forced on to Virgin as my TV ariel socket do not seem to work!

!!!!!! - especially as for every room I want to watch TV in it will cost me more!

I too was a long term ntl / virgin customer but got fed up with Virgin 2mb broadband service and the customer service attitude.

Now have the O2 8mb broadband and (touch wood) it is quick (5mb) and reliable. O2 customer service and tech support I used on set up were really good.

I am not using the wireless side of the O2 box I route it into an apple airport extreme as we run Macs.
