BnQ Kitchen - any one actually had one done recently!!??

Options
Hi there,

There is a lot of discussion on BnQ kitchens in a thread below. As I have had a (reasonable) quote I am thinking of taking up - has anyone actually had one installled by them in the last 6 months??

I jut think it's really hard to decide......... No-one I know can recommend a fitter, so even if I went with a local kitchen fitter - I am picking them out the yellow pages etc... I don't know that they will do a good job either!!!

Ah - the joys of home improvement.......... I have a lot to learn!!

It's very difficult. Maybe you should get a few kitchen fitters out to quote? Or there's this company that advertises on one of the kitchen fitting websites: http://www.nskitchenfitting.co.uk/4501.html
    (I'm guessing you're in Glasgow!)

Personally, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

I had them quote me for a kitchen and bathroom when I moved into my current house two years ago. A total of £13k. In the end they messed me about so much that by the time they gave me a fitting date for my bathroom they no longer stocked the stuff I wanted. They never did manage to get me a fitting date for my kitchen.

In the end I cancelled the lot and went elsewhere, and I certainly haven't regretted it.

Obviously, things may have improved since then.

  • hello there - we bought a b&q kitchen a few months ago & are very happy with it. We chose to avoid their expensive fitting service and found a chap ourselves who is a professional kitchen fitter, works on building sites, doing new houses (not many new houses going up, so he's grateful of the work now) and we paid him £100/day. It took him 2 days. Ours is a medium size kitchen & he fitted all the appliances too.

    Hi All

    I am Neil Scoffield (nskitchenfitting)

Just wanted to clarify.. I have never quoted "Eydon" for any work... I dont even fit bathrooms, only kitchens!

I may just be me but the post reads as if it was directed at me.. rather than the original intended B&Q

    I thought Eydon meant B&Q - so don't panic!
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D
  • I don't do kitchens (apart from the electrics), but I know 2 decent joiners who are a dab hand at fitting kitchens.
pm me if you want their numbers.

They are both based in Kilmarnock, but they travel to the big city (Glasgow) :rotfl:
(Unlike me - prefer to stay in Ayrshire)
    baldly going on...
