Tax for serving

Options
We have rented our house and are in Married Quarters. As my hubby is retired from the RN, we wanted to put the rent in his name only so that he would get the best tax deal. I am now being told that as the house is in joint names I will have to have half the rent in my name therefore more tax to pay. Other than having the house put in hubbys name only (not that I don't trust him!!!)the accountant says there is no way around it.
Does anyone know of any rulings for service personnel? Can I claim married quarter rent against the tax as I was drafted here.

surely you will only get taxed on your oart of the rent??? in which case you can earn something like 4500 quid a year before declaring it (don't know the exact amount you can earn before being taxed but its around 4500 pound)

ontop of your wages i might add
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right
