Not really. I was just wondering about everyone who had said their phone worked after drying out. Did any of them get their phones wet whilst it was switched on? I was just trying to work out the likelihood of my daughter's phone still working after we dry it out.
Anyway, my daughter turned her phone on yesterday (too early in my opinion) and it looks like its knackered anyway.
My own phone has survived being submerged whilst being switched on. It wasn't put through a washing machine to be fair.
Take the phone off her, seperate the parts and wait for it to dry.- amassing0 -

I can't understand why people ask advice and then try switching them on impatiently after a only couple of days! Some phones will work again after going though the wash, others won't. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Separate it again as much as possible (battery out, covers off) and put it in the airing cupboard for a good fortnight, surrounded by rice and paper, and it should work!
It does need a long time.Russia is HERE0 -
ive had old nokias that took some proper abuse, dropped, got wet etc. and were ok.
a few months back some idiot drove through a massive puddle right next to me whilst i was out walking (sure i would have found it very funny if i had witnessed it, but seeing as i was drenched i wasnt laughing). anyway my phone was in my pocket, only got a bit damp for a minute or so through the coat, but its never worked since.
well i say that, it makes the noises, like if you switch it on on it plays the welcome tones etc., but the screen is obviously knackered. it was a sony ericsson.
hopefully your daughter hasnt got one!We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

I asked advice and I was going to wait a week before switching it on after reading the advice on here. However, my daughter switched it on yesterday while I was out. I wouldn't have let her if I had known she was going to do that! I would also have hidden it from her. Im sorry if this has irritated you.0 -

She would not be able to just switch it on, if it was dismantled as has been suggested.
Am I bovered, no!

I don't see a need for any judgement here.
The OP asked for advice. This doesn't mean she's contracted to carry out the advice given, nor does it mean she should be criticised for not doing so.
And it's been made clear that the OP was not the one who made the decision with what to do anyway, so it's hardly fair to criticise.
Espresso, if you're really not "bovered", you wouldn't feel a need to post your frustration. So please, stick to your word and don't judge.0 -

Luckily I know how to ignore trolls. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
My daughter is 18 and perfectly capable of putting her battery etc back together with her phone and trying to turn it on. She did this whilst I was out despite me telling her not to.
A troll is someone who joins a thread with the only intention of causing an argument and I think there is only one person who has done that here.
Thank you everyone else who has contributed with advice. It was helpful for me because I did try to dry out the phone and it may have worked had my daughter not rushed to turn her phone on yesterday. Never mind. Thanks everyone!0 -

A smarter person would have checked the pockets before washing the garment, they would have also removed the battery out of temptations way! Either way and expensive mistake.
