I think possibly your Panasonic's may be suffering from a different problem, I am sure that if a big brand like Panasonic was involved, we would have heard of thousands of more cases.
I could be wrong of course, it just seems unlikely to me.
Sorry, I know that doesn't help you.;)0 -
Just to add that my Echostar T101 has been affected (eg. BBC and ITV channels listed in the 800's)0

... I have BBC 3 on Channel 1, News 24 on 2 and BBCi on 5 ! The screen is blank for a lot of other channels. What fun
There’s apparently been some re-jigging of stations between different parts of the Freeview infrastructure set-up across the country between July-August, and that’s had some repercussions on loads of pre-2006 boxes. The freeview website has this FAQ, which is short enough to quote in full (it certainly describes what I’ve experienced on my 4-year-old Ferguson FDT500 when I tried to re-tune it recently):
BBC and ITV channels moving into the 800's
Some viewers with older manufactured set-top boxes may have experienced their BBC and ITV channels changing location in the electronic programme guide and moving into the 800's.E.g. BBC1 appears as 801 on the EPG rather than 001.
Duplicate channels are sometimes placed into the 800's when a viewer is in an area where the receiver picks up reception from 2 transmitters. Often the stronger signal is used and the channels from the weaker signal are placed in the 800's.
In this case, however, a viewer will have blank channels 1-4. The channels have not been lost, but moved into the 800's.
The manufacturers are working on a solution to this issue in the form of an over air download and hope to have it resolved the very near future. For further details we recommend you contact your manufacturer directly.
I have used this temporary workaround:- autotune the box, choosing to replace all stations
- deselect all programmes that I don’t watch regularly from the favourites list
- re-order the ones I do watch into the usual order (in my case that’s the default BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Ch4, Ch5, …).
- The Pr+ button on my remote now cycles through these in that order, irrespective of the programme number the retuning assigned to them (in my case 812, 817, 806, 807, 005, …)
I think we should mount a campaign to Ofcom and the affected manufacturers to ensure they get these software upgrades out to us PDQ!Cheers,

Many thanks for your reply IanMB and the link, I hadn't seen that page though I have been checking regularly.
I emailed freeview last week and Panasonic today, hopefully they will reply.
I don't see why we should all be pushed into buying new boxes because of this upgrade however inexpensive they are now.
Thanks again, I did try clearing all channels a few days ago and then rescanned but the channels are still jumbled, none in the 800's though.0 -
