Take a look at the Carphone Warehouse site and look at the Nokia 2310 phone,it is listed at 4.99 but you have to buy £10 of credit with it.Thats as i understand it.I have this phone myself and find it meets my needs well,it even has FM Radio. happy hunting

Anyone know of a vodafone cheapy?
  • Cheapest PAYG deal at the moment is IKEA (9p a min 6p texts) its a vitual operator ie it uses someone's network (T mobile). You should be able to combine this with the Nokia 2310 that MOLmalone mentioned - since its T mobile.

My 14 year old son has this phone and loves it. It's basic, yes, but brilliant to and he loves it for the radio as previously mentioned. It's got a not too bad battery life either and bounces quite well when dropped with very little damage unlike some of the more modern phones.

My friend in her 50's is now on her second of these phones, i.e. just because it's basic and she just wants to make the odd phone call or text which it's perfect for.

What it doesn't have is a camera, mp3 player and doesn't have the facility to send or receive picture / multi media messages so if your brother wants to do this, this is not the best phone.
