My journey to living within my means

Dear diary

Well here we go again and this time I am determinded that all the work will not be in vain.

I have spreadsheets and list galore and I am going to stick to them.

I have gone thru this process so many times and gone straight back to my old ways, no more.

I am determined to get sorted out.

On paper we should have in excess of £300 per month left but the money fairy seems to come and steal it at a moments notice and I have no idea where it goes.

Got myself a little book and I am writing down what I spend and on what so I can perhaps see where the hole in the bucket is and plug it once and for all.

I have had mr T deliver today and hope with what I have already in the freexer and store cupboard I will be good for at least two weeks possible four with a top up of fresh stuff only. I have even frozen my milk to save me going to the shop for that. Only bread to get because the stuff they tried to deliver was hard so I sent it back.

I am aiming for four NSD between today and Monday week when I go back to work, does today count if I dont actually spend anything else, I paid Mr t yesterday.

So my committment for this next ten days is 4 NSD and stay within my budget.

If you paid for Mr T yesterday and have spent nothing else today, I would count today as a NSD.

If nothing else, it will give you a boost on your "fresh start".

  • I am now off to the bank to get cash which has been budgeted for and put it into jars, also get my petrol which is budgeted for, today will not be a NSD because I need to get bread and some bits which I will write down in my book will check in again later with my spend report.

Thank you all for your encouragement I really need it, this is last chance saloon for us.

  • Well I have been to the cash point and taken out the agreed amount and devided it into the jars, I put on electric enough for two weeks and put petrol in my car and the cahnge went into the correct jar, I do feel nearvous about it all but strangely excited.

I had a chat with my eldest DD and tried to explain that I have no idea where the money goes, she is great with money and has no clue what I am talking about atall.

Tommorrow is set to be a NSD, fingers crossed for me please.
