How can they get another account? surely they can't use the same address?

they just use a different email
you need to register a card to sell, not to buy unfortunately0 -
I run more than one account all using my correct name and address (of course!) but with different emails and different debit/credit cards registered.
It means I can sell totally distinct types of items without looking odd.

so.....if I used my email address to register a friends account, would I have to cancel her account if I wanted to use it for mine? and if I did cancel would it link to my friends' account. Or can I use it to register my address?!
Also can a Gmail account be used?

Each e mail address can only be used once, so if you use an e mail address for a friends registration then you are unlikely to be able to re register in your name later.
Gmail is fine as is Hotmail although I believe in those cases you also need to register another form of 'proof' such as a bank card.

well,i'm no expert at riipping people off,but i think ebay make it too easy for people to be ripped off.
it's in their best interests to make it easy for buyers to sign up,more new members equals more money. yet if you ever have dealings with ebay when it goes wrong, they are less than useless.
for all their rules, the amount of auctions that are for information only eg buy it now for a phone at £30,and buried somewhere in the tons of text is the fact that it is not for the actual phone, but for info as to where to get the phone.
ebay are literally too busy counting the money to care.0 -
Perhaps ebay should start applying a charge to register, now its reputation is up and running people will pay!! ;D I am only saying this now because I have a healthy account!
...The charge should be given back once you have your first 100% 100 transactions...this way it keeps you in shape and gets rid of muppets!! :-/

You can easily set up a second selling account angelcake. Open a Hotmail account and register a bank card on ebay and you will be fine. If you have problems with registering then remember to clear your cache and keep trying.
Also, as has been mentioned before if you log in via R points you get £3 back in points for registering a new account. I recently opened a new account via my r points account and it went through quite smoothly even with an ordinary Hotmail account.
