Just done it for the first time - eek! Entered my snipes for tonight.
Did I need to download the toolbar?
Is it really safe giving your ebay password out?

I think my Goofbay password is not the same as my Ebay password.
I know you have to put the Ebay one in but it is HTTPS.
Just checked and they are not the same:
Ebay - *XXXXXXXXXXX*F
Goofbay - SXXXXXXXXXXXX5
The X's are not the password just replacing digits or chars.0 -
No, the passwords for the two accounts are different, but you give them your ebay password for them to snipe for you.LB Moment Sep 2007 Debt at highest £19,000 :eek:Debt at April 2011 £10,0000

I haven't used Goofbay for sniping, but did the other day use their search for misspellings.
I've been looking for something for my son and they usually go for £20 - £25, sometimes a lot more. Goofbay misspelling search displayed the item I wanted, and, even better, it was on buy it now for £7.99 (it had only been listed for about 2 hours). Postage was the same as other auctions, so I snapped it up.
I'd have never found it using the normal ebay search.0 -
Bumpity bump!!!!!
I wanted to use goofbay today, but it is asking what my max bid would be, in dollars? All the rest is in pounds so how do I change it?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Sorry, I did it. When you put the item number and confirm it, it puts your bid in the correct currency automatically..Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Does goofbay take commission from items you bid on or put another way will I lose my ebay cashback going via goofbay? Thanks.0

Don't think they do. It seems completely free. They certainly didn't ask for any money details IYKWIM. It looks great for finding bargains.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I mean is ebay paying them commission?
I get the commission ebay normally pays via cashback and avoid any front end sites onto ebay in case they take the cashback from me.
I had a look at the site and it makes no mention of this and even asks for donations to fund it.
Nevertheless I cleared all my cookies after visiting the site just in case.0 -
Found some old information on Goofbay revenue here:

I suspect if you use front-end sites to access ebay you need to careful not to loose your cashback.0
