using goofbay snipe tool

Hi. I will be using the goofbay sniper for the 1st time in a couple of days and would like to know whether i need to be logged out of ebay for it to work. ?

No, it doesn't matter.
I use it regularly. If you snipe an item early it will tell you if you are outbid so you can adjust it if necessary. Very useful tool. Especially if the auction ends while you're at work / travelling /in the shower / sat right by the computer

Have fun but remember, the amount you chose was the amount you were prepared to pay. Not much to be done about that 2 seconds from the end

how much time before auction time is it advisable to snipe - i need this item quite a lot so i don't want to risk the snipe tool not getting there in time

I read at least 10 but I have done some at 5 and it has been OK.

If it is something you really want why not do two one at 30 and another at 10 with different amounts or 60 and 30.

It's up to you I guess.

I usually go for 2-5 seconds. If your bid is high enough you'll get it. If you add your snipe early and keep an eye on your emails it will tell you if / when you have been outbid and adjustments can be made. If you want to bid more.

Alternatively, bid now on ebay and see how far that gets you. You can still snipe but it can give you an idea what any other bidder is aiming at.

Generally you just find out if you have won. If someone else is sniping at the same time it just comes down to £s. It's always a gamble but I have been happily suprised at how far below my top whack I've won for.

How much do you want it and how much are you prepared to pay? That's the question. And you can never know anothers answer to that

When I use it, albeit not that often I go for the literally last second bid. I've won a few, but equally lost a few, but those I've lost it's been because I've been outbid rather than goofbay not performing.

How much does it cost per auction? I've used auctionsniper in the past, but they charge for snipes.

Personally, I don't understand why people think that a snipe at the very last few seconds will actually win the item for them .......

I think that it is all a little childish, why bother with it ?

All you have to do is place a normal bid for the highest amount that you are prepared to pay for the item, and just wait for the auction to end.

It is self-sniping, and up to your maximum bid amount.

No point in using a snipe program to do the same job, you still only place the maximum amount that you are willing to pay for the item.

The real difference is that on ebay your highest bid will subsequently be revealed as soon as someone bids up that far. This is a function of ebay designed to encourage folk to bid more, as they will if this occurs well before the end of the auction. When using Goofbay no one on ebay knows you're there so you can sit tight and get an item at the end by bidding a reasonable amount whereas your competitor may well bid less thinking they are the only one's interested. It stops bid fever
